Tina is an Environmental Science graduate from Florida International University in Miami and has been with our group since April 2002. Her duties include installation and maintenance of field and laboratory equipment, projects data maintenance, and support for extension activities.

Harry is part of the full time support staff in group since December 2003. He collaborates in lab and field studies, with emphasis in the intrument maintainance.

Andrea was the first student intern we received from the UF-EARTH University bilateral agreement. His interests were in sustainable agriculture and the environment. He worked with our group and Dr. Bruce Schaffer's for 4.5 months at the end of 2001. Andrea graduated with a B.S. from EARTH university and currently works on a waste management project for an Agricultural Group in Costa Rica.

During Sept. 1, '02-April. 29, '03 Martin worked at TREC on his "Diplomarbeit" (M.Sc.) from the Institute of Hydrology of the University of Freiburg (Germany). Dr. Rafael Muñoz-Carpena supervised his thesis, entitled: " A local groundwater study in the agricultural area bordering the Everglades National Park (Florida) ". He graduated with honors in Germany in June 2003.

Dr. Axel Ritter- Visiting Scholar and Graduate Student, Instituto Canario de Investigaciones Agrarias/Univ. de Cordoba (Spain), e-mail: aritter@icia.es

Axel worked at TREC on his Ph.D. dissertation from the University of Cordoba (Spain) during May 1-Oct. 15, 2002. Dr. Rafael Muñoz-Carpena was his major profesor and supervised his dissertation, entitled: "Inverse modeling of water flow and solute transport in volcanic soils to assess soil and water pollution from agrochemicals". He graduated with honors (summa cum laude) in Spain in December 2002. He currently works as a researcher at ICIA  and adjunct professor at University of La Laguna (Canary Islands, Spain)

Frank is a geophysicist from the Instituto Superior Politécnico of Havana, Cuba with a specialty in software design. He was responsible for the design and deployment of the on-line hydrological information tool UF-HydroBase available from this web site. He worked for us in 2002-2003.

Mr. Diego Funes - Student Intern, University of Florida, email: dfunes@hotmail.com.

Diego was the third intern we had at the Hydrology and Irrigation department of TREC.  He came from UF Gainesville as a senior in civil engineering with a strong interest in hydrology, water resources, and environmental engineering.  Diego is a Dean's List student. He worked at TREC through the summer of 2003 on various projects.  Diego will graduate in the Fall of 2003.

Ms. Amanda Miller - Student Intern, Miami-Dade Community College, e-mail:

Amanda came on the first quarter of 2003 for her graduation credits from Miami-Dade County, where she was an honors student in pre-vet. She collaborated in sampling and data adquisition tasks in the on-going watershed management study (Frog Pond). She plans to continue her education at the UF's Veterinary Medicine School

Jono obtained his M.Sc. from the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering with the University of Florida. Drs. Rafael Muñoz-Carpena and Michael D. Dukes supervised his thesis on studying the reduction in nutrient leaching by using an automatic soil moisture based fertigation system. He graduated in Spring 2006 and return to his native South Africa where he works for an irrigation consulting group.
